New Facebook (minor) updates makes it better.
by Bharat on Mar.30, 2009, under Internet
After the huge outcry from people like last time criticizing Facebook updated look(actually it never really mattered to me), there is a new minor update which does what i said in the starting it needs to do. It gives you the power to control notifications from certain applications that may be flooding your Wall as some of your friends (like mine who are too excited to take those stupid fb tests and publishing the results) are too often hitting the publish button. Now you can hide the applications that you dont want to see updates from, filling your wall with crap.See pic below :-
So now this one makes it much better and i hope it doesn’t draw criticism from people who anyways criticise FB without even trying the new layout. But for me its great and i hope you like it too
Are you addicted to internet ?
by Bharat on Mar.29, 2009, under Internet, humor

I know most of us would feel its a total time waste even to read this but you all still will because you want to know what crap is written here. Now, so below is a list of questions that you need to ask yourself and if the answer to more of them is yes than you are addicted to internet.
- Do you access internet almost everyday?
- Do you often spend more time online than you intended to ?
- Do you have more than 4 email-ids ?
- Do you access more than 2 social networking sites ?
- You are more social of facebook and orkut ?
- Have you played online games and actually like some of them ?
- Do you feel awkward if you cant access internet any day ?
- Do you run out of work on internet and think of something to do ?
- Do you listen to music online ?
- You wish your friends online before/instead of personally ?
Lastly, Have you ever completed any quiz to find if you are addicted to internet ? If yes, you are definitely addicted to internet. If you answered most of them as yes than welcome to the large group of internet addicted people (IAP). If you answered most of them as ‘no’ than you are not a part of the Gen Y, shame on you.

Mac dock copied from Windows ?
by Bharat on Mar.27, 2009, under Tech
People always come and tell me how great is Mac OSX dock is and how windows copies everything from Mac OS. So here is a little piece of information for those guys.

As seen in pic above is the Windows 1.0 which also had a place at the bottom to show running appliation. Hoefnagels (Microsoft designer) “What are those big icons?” he asked during his speech at the Mix 09 conference last week. “Is that the Apple Dock? No, this predates the Apple Dock by 15 years. This even predates the NextStep OS on which the dock is based by two years.” So now you know what copied what and who copied whom.
The same taskbar made a comeback in Windows 7 with a little more advanced graphics and features and every one starts jumping and shouting hey that similar to dock or its copied from Linux about which no one even knows about.

This is a pretty simple tweak using which you can set any video as your desktop wallpaper.
Just follow the steps given below:
1.Download VLC Media Player and install it.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
2.Run VLC media player,go to Settings->preferences->Interface->Main interfaces, then click on wxWidgets.Remove the tick on “Taskbar” and put a tick on “Systray icon”.
3.Now go to Video->Output Modules->DirectX.On the bottom right put a tick on advanced options check box.You will now see some options.Put a tick on “Enable Wallpaper Mode “.
4.Now,select playlist and put a check or tick on “Repeat current item “.
5.Press the Save button. Now close the Vlc player and run it again(to save the settings permanently).
6.Now play any video you would like to set as Wallpaper.Right click on the video and click on “Wallpaper”.The video would be set as your wallpaper!!!!
Since you have checked the option “repeat current item “,the selected video will play on continuously. It will start again when finished.VLC player will remain in your system tray.If you wish to remove the wallpaper simply close the player and you will get back your original wallpaper.
